Shakespeare Connected - Imagining New Place

12. Finding New Place

This book was published in 2016 to coincide with the re-opening of New Place. It retells the story of Shakespeare's family home from the 1400s to the present day. Most evidence comes from the archaeological project ‘Dig for Shakespeare’ which took place with the help of local volunteers between 2010 - 2015. It also contains reconstruction drawings of Shakespeare's New Place by Phillip Watson, based on evidence from the excavations. These detailed drawings are the most recent imaginings we have of Shakespeare’s family home.
