Bone Button Waste (15th to 17th century) (Context 2011, Season 1)

Bone strip with six drilled perforations. Waste from the production of bone buttons or counters, which had a multitude of uses. Similar examples are known from Norwich (1400-1600) and Beeston Castle Cheshire (mid 17th-century).
