About the Picture

“I loved painting my Shakespeare portrait; drawing is amazing it makes me feel so happy inside. First I looked at lots of different pictures of Shakespeare and illustrations by Quentin Blake. I drew the outline in pencil and then pen, it was hard to make Shakespeare's head big enough. Next I painted it with watercolour paints from a palette - that was fun because I hadn't used them before. I thought my painting looked just like Shakespeare.”
