From pop art to cartoons, traditional portraits to abstract images – we’re proud to present a brand new exhibition of Shakespeare portraits in celebration of Shakespeare Week. Some of the star portraits from our collection at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust are in this exhibition, alongside some specially commissioned Shakespeare portraits from some of our most-loved children’s illustrators.
We hope you’re inspired to create your own Shakespeare portrait. If you’re a primary school-aged child and want to enter our Shakespeare portrait competition you have until 31 January 2020 to submit your A4 portrait. Winners will receive some fabulous prizes and have their work exhibited at The Lowry alongside the children’s illustrators. You can find out more about Shakespeare Week and how to enter the competition on the Shakespeare Week website.
