It’s not always easy being ourselves and sometimes we’re afraid to be who we are in case others judge us. But being true to ourselves is important for our wellbeing and self-esteem. This Shakespeare Week we’re inviting you to explore your identity and be proud of yourself!

To get you started we asked several well-known children’s figures including CBeebies presenter Ben Cajee, CBBC's Nikki Lilly and award-winning children’s author and illustrator, Marcia Williams, to explore their identities by responding to the famous Shakespeare quote from Hamlet:

'This above all, to thine own self be true...'

You can see their creative responses and many other famous children’s celebrities’ in this online exhibition.

Now it’s your turn! We’d like you to do the same and enter our fabulous Shakespeare Week 2021 competition: To thine own self be true

Show us what this quote means to you by sending us a creative response – you can send a poem, a piece of writing, a poster, picture, piece of art or even a short video – the choice is yours! You have until 31 March 2021 to enter. More details can be found at shakespeareweek.org.uk/competition
