Admin History

Administrative History The office of Public Health Inspector (originally Inspector of Nuisances and later Sanitary Inspector) was inherited from the Local Board of Health which was dissolved in 1879 (see BRT7). In the early period he worked in close association with the Medical Officer of Health and, by tradition, the annual reports of his work were included in those of the M.O.H. until at least 1967 (see BRR61)
