Description

Indenture of lease from Thomas Balsale, master of the Gild of the Holy Cross etc. of Stratford upon Auen, and Thomas Dabys and Philip Whatley, baker, proctors of the same, with the assent of the aldermen and council of the same to Richard Frende `milward' of Stratford upon Auen and Alice his wife of a half part of a barn with a garden and close adjoining with a horse-mill within the said half barn in Stratford in Walkerstrete opposite le Bancrofte between another half barn in the tenure of Richard Reynolds, chapman, and Alice his wife, and a barn of the said Gild in the tenure of Richard Sadeler and extending in length from the said street to the garden of Richard Cookes below, and in breadth from the said garden of Richard Cookes above to a garden hedge of the said Richard and Alice Reynolds, for term of their lives at an annual rent of 3s.4d. and a chief rent of 6d. and to keep the premises in good repair Witnesses: John Hannys, William Bole, John Holanton and Rouland Vance, `subballivi', William Ireton and others Dated at Stratford, Monday in the feast of St. Margaret the Virgin, 1 Edw.IV Both seals lost
