Description

Counterpart of lease, indented, from John Clopton, master, John Barnard and John Tetersale, proctors, with the assent of John Hannys, Roger Pagette, Reginald Flecher, John Gilberte, John Wager, Thomas Walker, John Bryghtwell, and Richard Walker, aldermen of the Gild of the Holy Trinity, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist of Stratford upon Auen, to Joan Suche, wife of William Suche of Stratford formerly wife of John Weller of Stratford, of two adjoining tenements in Stratford in Henleystrete, between a tenement of the said Joan formerly of John Welles, and the street called Hellane, whereof one tenement with a garden extends from Henleystrete to the end of the barn of the Gild then in the tenure of Ralph Sadler, and the other, with a garden, extends from the said street to the garden of Thomas Compton; to hold to the said Joan, Roger her son, and Agnes her daughter for term of their lives at an annual rent of 13s.4d. and a chief rent of 9d Witnesses: Roger Pagette, `capitalis ballivus', John Gilberte and Thomas Dawbys `constabularii', William Roose and William Brewes, `subballivi', Roger Palmar, clerk of the Gild, and others Dated at Stratford in the hall of the Gild, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 13 Edward IV Seal of red wax, octagonal, damaged.
