Description

Indenture of lease from William Lucy, esq. lord of Charlecote, master John Harrys and John Palmer, chaplains, to Thomas Baxster of Stratford upon Avon of a piece of land with a garden adjoining and a house newly built also adjoining in Stratford in Wodestrete between the tenement of Alice Yate and that of John Eburton in which William Couper then dwelt, the piece of land and Garden extending from the said street to a garden of the Gild of the Holy Cross, formerly Christiana Dawndelyon's, in length, and also of certain goods and chattels on the said piece of land as described in an inventory thereof made; all which the grantors had of the gift and feoffment of the said Thomas Baxster, to hold for term of his life at the rent of a red rose at the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and a chief rent of 4d Witnesses: John Blaunfron, John Kyngeot, William Brasyer, Thomas Payntour and Nicholas Mayel, `subballivi', and others Dated at Stratford, Tuesday in Whit week, etc, 10 Henry VI Seals: (1) - (2) Lost. (3) Of red wax, octagonal. A crowned R between palm branches
