Description

Counterpart of lease, indented, from Richard Quynye, master of the Gild of the Holy Cross etc., of Straforde vppon Aven, William Cloppton, esq., Thomas Tayloure, Hughe Raynoldes, Thomas Whateley, William Smyth, Richard Lyghtfote, John Geffreys, and William Benet, aldermen, and William Menske and Andrew Sutton, proctors of the same Gild, to Raffe Cawdrey, `bochar', of a shop containing in length by estimation 40 feet with two chambers above it, and with a little `cheire', in Medull Rewe called `lee Shambulles', between the shop of the said Gild in the West and the ground of Edward Vndrell, gent., in the East, for 41 years at an annual rent of 13s.4d., and 6d. chief rent; with bond of obligation in £10 for the performance of covenants. Dated in the Gildhall, 23 June, 37 Henry VIII Seal lost
