Account of Andrew Draper and William Mayn, Proctors of the Guild of the Holy Cross ... John the Baptist, from the Morrow of the Feast of the Guild, 10 Henry IV., to the Morrow of the same Feast, 11 Henry IV The Account is rendered under the following headings Arrears Receipt of rent Light-silver [No heading.] (42s 11d received from divers Brethren and Sisters for the dinner this year) Stipends of the Chaplains Decays of rent Rents resolute. (3s paid to John James for the chief rent for the Hall of the Guild and the Garden, 12d for "le Drapry," 4d for the House of St. Mary in "le Oldton," c.) Cost of the lamp and the light. (One of the items is of 23lb. of wax received from divers Brethren and Sisters.) Necessary expenses. (For bread, beer, meat, c. for the Master, Aldermen, Proctors, and others, on various occasions at the Hall of the Guild and for supper at the house of John Mayel; and for writing the accounts, c.) Small necessaries (Payments for washing the vestments of the Altar of the Holy Cross, the Blessed Mary, and St. John the Baptist; to Henry Bedemon for ringing the bell four times in the year at the "interlocution" of the Bretheren and Sisters, c.) On the back of the roll is an account of the receipt of wax from the members of the Guild, 1 lb. being due from each Brother or Sister [Receipt] of wax.
