The following are descriptions of the deeds 1. 31 March, 1390 Portion of a deed, apparently of a quitclaim made by Simon de Well for himself and his heirs of their estate in certain lands and tenements (the situation of them not mentioned) to John [] Thomas [] and Richard [] and their heirs and assigns Witnesses: Richard Waldyht, William Fuleneley, Ralph Murydene, William Fox, William Mulle and others Dated at Alspath on Maunday Thursday 13, Richard II Following this are three deeds (nos.2, 3 and 4) showing the descent of a fifth part of the Manor of Alspathe comprising lands, tenements c. in Alspathe, Bekunhull, Berkeswell, Loddebrok, and Maxstoke from Edmund de Alspathe to certain persons in trust for himself and Alice his wife from whom it passed to Thomas Panton, the second husband of the said Alice and his wife the said Alice, and from them after passing through the hands of several sets of trustees to John Wyarde of Alspathe The following are the deeds 2. 22 April, 1402 Quitclaim by Master Simon Sloley, Warden of the College of Strafford upon Abon, William de la Pole, of the county of Warwick, William Munmouth parson of the church of Southam and Richard Bykkunhull of Couentre to William atte Yate, chaplain, of all their right in all the lands and tenements etc. in Alspath, Bekunhull Berkeswell, Loddebrok' and Maxstoke, which under the name of the fifth part of the manor of Alspathe they lately had of the gift and grant of Richard Botyler, vicar of the church of Alspath, conjointly with the aforesaid William atte Yate Dated at Alspath, Saturday next before the feast of St. George the Martyr, 3 Henry IV 3. 8 October, 1403 Grant by William atte Yate, chaplain, to John Wyarde of Alspathe and Margaret his wife of the fifth part of the manor of Alspathe with its appurtenances in Alspathe, Bekunhull, Berkeswell, Loddebrok' and Maxstoke, and all other his lands and tenements with their appurtenances therein. To hold for the term of their lives and of the life of the longer liver of them The deed also records the following transactions which had previously taken place referring to the said fifth part of the manor of Alspathe Henry de Fylongeley, vicar of Alspathe and Edmund Elys of Coventry, by their charter dated at Alspathe on Tuesday next after the feast of St. Peter ad Vincula, 28 Edward III, granted to Edward de Alspathe and Alice his wife and their heirs for ever, the fifth part of the manor of Alspathe with the appurtenances, which they the said Henry de Fylongeley and Edmund Elys lately had of the gift and feoffment of the said Edmund de Alspathe in Alspathe, Bekunhull, Berkeswell, Loddebrok, and Maxstoke - which same Edward de Alspathe died, and the said Alice took as husband a certain Thomas de Panton. And afterwards in the Octave of Holy Trinity, 51 Edward III, the said Thomas de Panton and Alice his wife by a fine levied before Robert Beleknappe and other Justices of the King acknowledged "the fifth part of the Manor of Alspathe with the appurtenances to be the right of a certain John atte Welle then Vicar of Hampton, and those they quit-claimed from them the said Thomas de Panton and Alice and the heirs of the said Alice to the aforesaid John and Henry de Ardern, chivaler, John Worthe chivaler, John Wyarde, Thomas de Norton and Richard Botyller, Vicar of the Church of Alspathe by the name of Richard Botyller, chaplain, and the heirs of the said John atte Welle for ever. And afterwards the aforesaid Henry, John Worthe, and John atte Welle died and Simon atte Welle the brother and heir of the aforesaid John atte Welle by his deed, quit-claimed to the aforesaid John Wyarde, Thomas de Norton and the aforesaid Richard Botyller their heirs and assigns for ever, all his right and claim therein. And the aforesaid Thomas de Norton died, after whose death the aforesaid John Wyarde quit-claimed for ever, to the aforesaid Richard Botyller, his heirs and assigns, all the right and claim which he had therein". "And afterwards the aforesaid Richard Botyller, granted the aforesaid fifth part of the manor aforesaid with its appurtenances to Master Simon Sloley, the Warden of the College of Stratford upon Avon, William de la Pole of the County of Warwick, William Munmouthe, parson of the church of southam, Richard Bykunhull of Coventry and William atte Yate, chaplain, their heirs and assigns for ever, which same Master Simon, William de la Pole, William Munmouthe, and Richard Bykunhull quit-claimed for themselves and their heirs for ever to the said William atte Yate, chaplain, his heirs and assigns all the right and claim which they had in the aforesaid fifth plart of the manor aforesaid with its appurtenances Witnesses: John de Weston' of Warwick, Roger Benet of Couentre, Richard Jordan of Alspathe, John Godyng of the same, William Yonge of the same, John Mason of Kynewardesey, Richard Pyper of Bekunhull and others Dated at Alspathe on Sunday [sic] 8 October 5 Henry [IV] 4. 11 October, 1403 Quit-claim by William atteYate, chaplain, to John Wyarde of Alspathe of all his right and claim in the fifth part of the manor of Alspathe in Alspathe, Bekunhull, Berkeswell, Loddebrok, and Mascstoke, which the aforesaid John Wyarde and Margaret his wife lately had by his demise and grant for the term of their lives and of the life of the longer liver of them Witnesses: John de Weston' of Warwick, Roger Benet of Coventry, Richard Jordan of Alspathe, John Godyng of the same, William Yonge of the same, John Mason of Kynwardesey, Richard Pyper of Bekunhull and others Dated at Alspathe 11 October, 5 Henry IV
