Compton Verney: early deeds, letters patent

Description

Letters patent of John, earl of Warwick, viscount Lisle, knight of the most excellent order of the Garter, High Admiral of England, reciting grant on 4 February to John, viscount Lisle, his son and heir of the office of Constable of Warwick Castle, and keeper of the vineyard adjoining to the said castle, with messuage therein, together with a messuage in the borough of Warwick called 'le Stuardesplace' and present appointment of Sir Richard Verney as deputy in the said offices for the life of Richard, or the lives of the said earl and viscount, paying therefore ten pounds per annum.
