Custodial History

Transferred by the RSC to SBT, initially in the keeping of the Trust's Librarian, they were transferred to the Records Office in 1977, when the reference DR406 was applied.

Admin History

The collection was largely formed by William Salt Brassington, Librarian of the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, but one or two items were added after the collections of the Theatre were transferred into the custody of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
