Contemporary copy of a settlement by demise from Sir William Mountfort knight and Robert Stoke to Joyce, daughter of Hugh Wyllughby, knight, of 10 messuages with lands meadows pastures and appurtenances in Holt, Clyff, Hethhouses and Slaughtley; one messuage and half virgate of land in Holt held by John Smyth, late in tenure of John Payn', another messuage and half virgate of land in Holt held by Robert Trewman, one messuage with lands, etc. in Holt and Slaughtley held by John Trewman, one messuage and half virgate of land in the same vill held by John Boteler, late in the tenure of Richard Wade, one messuage and half virgate of land in the same vill held by William Herries, late in the tenure of Robert Wade, one messuage etc. in Clyff held by John Hall, 4 messuages in Le Hethhouses held severally by John Wade, John Dey, William Lyndon' and John Nicholl', one meadow called Whateley medowe, one piece of meadow called Portmanesholm, and another called le Doles in the Stert, one pasture called Brokley, one pasture called Shiplode, one pasture called Shiplode ruddyng, one pasture called le Hey Wast in Slaughtleyfelde, one pasture called le Longe crofte next to le Watry lane and 12d annual rent called `le dryft of the Clyff'; to hold the same to the said Joyce for her life, without impeachment of waste except wilful waste, and after her death to Richard Bracebrugge esq. son of Ralph Bracebrugge and the heirs of the said Richard and Joyce.
