Description

Covenant between Edward Hill of Charterhouse, gent., Arthur Gregory of Stivikall, esq., and Prudence his wife on the one part, and George Addison of Walton, co. Staffs., yeoman, on the other to levy a fine. Whereas the said Edward Hill, by indentures of lease and release dated 31 January and 1 February 1701, conveyed to the said George Addison and George Greene of Peirshall, co. Staffs., yeoman, for 274 pounds, a messuage in Mothershall, co. Staffs., then in the tenure of Sampson Fox, with all the closes of pasture pertaining thereto called the Meadow, the Crest, the Wood or Wood Close, the Mill Lane Side and the Hall Hilley, then in the occupations of ------ Cliffe, widow, and William Adams, and whereas the said property is now vested solely in the said George Addison by virtue of a conveyance from the said George Greene, it is now agreed that the said Arthur Gregory and Prudence his wife will acknowledge a fine to the said George Addison of the said premises, to hold to the said George Addison and his heirs for ever.
