Description

Lease from William Aldebury of Bynynton' [Binton] and Alice his wife to John son of Thomas Greve of Kyngesnorton' and Emma wife of the said John of lands, tenements, rents, services and appurtenances in Baddesley Clynton'. To hold the same for the term of the lives of the said William and Alice, rendering annually 7s. at the feasts of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Michael the Archangel in equal portions, the said William and Alice to have the right of distraint if the said rent fell into arrears beyond a quarter of a year. The said John and Emma to pay tax and tallage to the King, and rent to the lord and all other exactions during the said term. Sealing clause. Witnesses: Richard Whytley; John Broke; Geoffrey Broke and others. Given at Baddesley Clynton' Sunday next before the feast of St. Michael the Archangel 13 Henry VI [26 September 1434]. Two seals of black wax on tags: 1. Hexagonal seal, incomplete. 1/2 in. Within a hexagonal beaded border the letter B inside a horseshoe. 2. Circular seal. 1/2 in.
