Writ of dedimus potestatem issued to Humphrey Ferrers knt., Robert Burdett esq., William Chetwyn esq., Anthony Harcourte gent. and Thomas Oldnall gent. for any two, three or four of them to take recognisances from Edward Cokayne esq. and Jane his wife, who were too ill to travel to Westminster, so that the fine pending could be levied between Antony Ludford gent., Clement Throkmerton gent., plaintiffs, and the said Edward Cokayne and Jane his wife, deforciants, of the manor of Kyngeswood with all rights and appurtenances, 12 messuages, 5 cottages, 17 orchards, 17 gardens, 400 acres of land, 200 acres of meadow, 400 acres of pasture, 200 acres of wood, 40 acres of heath and 20s. rent with appurtenances in Kyngswood, Packwood, Knowle, Rowington and Lapworth, together with view of frankpledge in Kyngswood, Rowington and Lapworth and fishing rights in Kyngswood. 22 June 38 Elizabeth [1596].
