Description

Defeasance from John Preston of St. John's Street, co. Middlesex gent. to Walter Gifforde of Highe One [High Onn], co. Stafford esq. and George Brome of Halton [Holton], co. Oxford esq. concerning two bonds made by the said Walter and George to the said John in the penal sum of £800 and £300 to secure two debts of £400 and £157 10s., whereby the said John granted that if the said Walter and John paid £454 10s., of which £250 was to be paid on 13 November 43 Elizabeth [1601] at the house of William King gent. in St. John's Street, and £204 10s. on 31 December following, the said bonds should be void. 23 June [1601]. Receipt endorsed 31 November 1601 for £204 10s. paid by Walter Gifford and Henry Ferrers, and a release through William King, attorney of John Preston of all claims.
