Description

Memorandum of agreement made between George Ferrers esq. and Francis Willughby esq. that in consideration of £500 to be paid on 30 June next and £492 at Christmas 1671 they had sold to Humphrey Jenings esq., William Sadler, William Spencer, John Oslow and Edward Sadler 1,940 trees and 60 Runnill trees to be chosen by the said George and Francis `in the White house' and one tree in `woofes' and to confirm this bargain on 23 December next. 16 December 1669. Signed: Will Sadler, Wm. Spencer, John Slowe, Edward Sadler. Note: `Four yeares to ridd'' Memorandum by Humphrey Jennens, William Sadler, William Spencer, John Slowe and Edward Sadler that they would make reasonable satisfaction to George Ferrers of Baddesly Clynton esq. and Francis Willughby of Cossall [Cossal], co. Nottingham esq. for any damage done by them, their servants, workmen and chapmen to corn or mowing grass belonging to the said George and Francis or their tenants in carting and carrying away wood sold to them by the said George and Francis. 15 February 1669/70 [Old style 1670].
