Lease: Old Stratford (Clopton and Bridgetown)

Description

Lease dated 24 February 1740/1 (Old style) [1741] from the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Stratford-upon-Avon to Edward Clopton of Clopton esq., of all their 'privy tythe of wool, lamb, cows, calves, flax and all other small tythes' issuing from his lands etc. in Clopton and Bridgetown in the parish of Old Stratford (except the privy tythes from his lands in the common fields of Stratford, Welcombe and Bishopton, Clopton Meadow, alias Avon meadow and the Hams) for 21 years at a yearly rent of £10 and a couple of fowls or 1s. 6d. in lieu thereof.
