Probate copy of the Will of Decimus Slatter of Ilmington, farmer. Bequests: To the daughters by his first wife, Theodosia Potter according to his Marriage Settlement; Mary, wife of Robert Worrall of Shipston-on-Stour co. Worcester, butcher, Theodosia, wife of John Wyatt of Foxcote in Ilmington, farmer, and Elizabeth, wife of Daniel Walker of Ilmington, farmer of a freehold estate in Ilmington called Bury Field. Appoints his brother James Slatter of Paxford, farmer and his son in law James Worrall of Shipston-on-Stour, draper, Trustees. To hold a messuage and farm in Ilmington, formerly Poyners, in the occupation of Thomas Smith, in trust for his son and heir Robert Slatter and his heirs. By default to his second son Decimus. All farming stock there to the said Robert. Trustees to mortgage the said property to raise £1,200 for his daughters Joyce, wife of Thomas Willmott of Moreton-in-the-Marsh co. Gloucester and Nancy, wife of the said James Worrall, Trustee. To hold a messuage and farm in Ilmington in trust for his said son Decimus. To hold the remainder of his estate in trust to pay certain legacies: 9 gns. each to the said Trustees James Slatter and James Worrall. £600 each to his daughters Dinah, wife of Charles Smith of Ilmington, farmer, and Rebecca Slatter and Jane Slatter. The said Rebecca and Jane having the right to reside at the farm bequeathed to the said Decimus during their minority, the said Decimus to provide their maintenance. Appoints the said Trustees executors. Witnesses: Edward W. Wright M. D. Shipston-on-Stour and Samuel Coleman of the same place. Probate granted 19 June 1848 under Seal of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. Estate sworn under £3,000. Testator died 26 September 1847. [Slatter]
