Bishopton manorial records: Archer of Tanworth

Description

Copy [Sir] Simon Archer, Tanworth to Joyce, Countess of Totnes, at the Savoy House: history of rent charge of 26/8 due out of Greenslade which was at time of exchange [1542] in occupation Thomas Winkfield of Stratford. Greenslade now, after enclosures made after the exchange, part of Oxleasowe belonging to Totnes. Rent has been paid to successive Lords of Bishopton until Earl of Totnes came into possession, since which time, although asked for, not paid. Asks her to order payment of rent and arrears. Can be checked in deed of exchange "which I make no doubt is in your Honors custody".
