Attested copy of assignment by Henry Talbot, St. Georges, Hanover Square, Middx., esq., sole executor of the will of Sir Hugh Clopton, deceased, who was sole executor of Sir John Clopton his father, deceased, and Ann Boothby Skrymsher of the same, widow, only surviving child of the said Sir Hugh Clopton to Rev. Francis Gastrell Frodsham, Cheshire for £6702.5s.4d. of remainder of 2 respective terms of 150 years and 41 years in; a) land in Gild Pits, S/A, near Common Pound being 114' long and 42' broad.; b) Four closes of meadow land in Old Stratford. Recitals (1) 26 May 1679 Lease from Earl of Dorset to Sir John Clopton of (a) for 150 years. (2) 3 June 1692 Lease from Mayor and Corporation to Sir John Clopton of (b) for 51 years. (3) 27 Feb 1738 Further lease of (b) to run for 41 years from expiry of first term, granted by Mayor and Corporation to Sir Hugh Clopton.
