Description

Feoffment from Edward Lane of Bridgetown, gentleman, and Mary his wife, and Richard Bishopp of Cholsey, co. Berks., gentleman, and Mary his wife, to William Alcocke of Alveston, husbandman, for £156, of a messuage containing four bays of building with orchards and outbuildings etc., with two yardlands in Alveston, late in the tenure of Robert Alcock, father of the said William; one other messuage, with close adjoining, in Alveston, late in the tenure of Richard Turbett, deceased; also 13 lands or leys in the common pasture of Alveston and Tiddington and all commons heretofore in the holdings of Richard Turbett and Adrian Cale; 11 acres of arable land with their hades in Alveston and Tiddington and common of pasture for three cattle and ten sheep; and two feathers of meadow in Myll Meadow, part of the inheritance of Robert Walker, deceased. Warranty clauses against, Lane, Bishop, their wives William Combe and George Bonner, esqs.; the heirs of Nicholas Lane, grandfather of the said Edward, and of his father, Richard Lane; also against John Lane of Milcote, gent., uncle of the said Edward, and his cousins, John Lane, Margaret Greene and Mary Bushell, widow, children of the said John Lane of Milcote; also against the heirs of Ludovic Greville, esq., and against Edward Grevill of Milcote, knight, the said Edward Lane covenanting to repay to the said John Lane of Milcote a debt of £800 contracted by his father and grand-father.
