Description

Settlement on the marriage of Henry Tomes, son and heir apparent of John Tomes of Snitterfield, yeoman, and Elizabeth his wife, to Anne Haseler, daughter of John Haseler of Combe in Campden, co. Glos., yeoman, being a feoffment from the said John Tomes to John Haseler and Edward Cookes, son of William Cookes of Snitterfield, gentleman, for £100, of a messuage and 1 1/4 yardlands in Snitterfield, with four closes of pasture called the Orchard, the Two Leyes, the Nether Leyes, and the Eight Leyes, with a cottage lying within the last, and also a close called Baylye Shrubbes lying in Ingon in Hampton Lucy; to hold the same to the following uses: as to one moiety of the said premises (except one newly built bay of building, part of the said messuage, with two adjoining plots of ground) to the use of John Tomes for life, with remainder to his wife, Elizabeth, should she survive him, and, after their deaths, to the use of the said Henry Tomes with remainder to his wife, Ann Haseler and their issue; and as to the other moiety of the said premises to the use of the said Henry Tomes for life with remainder to his wife, the said Ann Haseler, and, after her death, to their issue.
