Snitterfield deeds: Hiron of Alveston

Description

Exchange by lease and release whereby Henry Smith of Snitterfield, yeoman, conveys to Humphrey Wheatly of the same, yeoman, for £70, a messuage in Snitterfield late in the tenure of George Plowman, since of Thomas Cotterell and now of Michael Cotterell, purchased by Henry Smith's grandmother, Mary White, of George Plowman and Anne his wife, [nos 128-9] and which by indentures of 13 and 14 June 1755, were settled on the said Henry Smith at his marriage; to hold in trust for Anne Savage of Bishops Tachbrooke, widow, for 1000 years subject to a proviso for redemption as specified in an assignment of 10 October 1763 [no. 131]; in exchange the said Humphrey Wheatly, with the consent of Anne Savage, conveys to Henry Smith a piece of meadow land in Snitterfield, lately called Lammas Close but now Tomes' or Cookes' close (boundaries specified), in the tenure of John Wheatly, and purchased by him (amongst other things) of Thomas Cookes.
