20 March 1908 Will of Harriet Townsend of Alveston, spinster, bequeathing: - To sister Louisa Ann all household furniture and domestic articles, buildings with yardlands and appurtenances in Tiddington used as an elementary school. - To sister Lousa Ann and John Slatter of Stratford-upon-Avon, gent., Trustees and executors, all residue of real and personal estate for sale to pay following legacies. - To Teresa Charlotte Townsend, her sister-in-law £500. - To Cyril Morton, now in South Africa £100. - To Henry Dee, a gardener formerly employed by Charles John Townsend, her late brother, £20. - To Eliza Harris Dyer, her maid £50. - To Thomas Horseman, her gardener £25. - To Eliza Orris of Leamington £25. - To Vicar and Churchwardens of Alveston £1000 for investment, the income to be used for benefit of sick and needy of Alveston. - To sister Louisa Ann £500 for investment; the income to be hers for life and after her death to Eliza Harris Dyer. - To Trustees to retain £15,000 for investment, the income for sister Louisa Ann for life and then for various charities and legacies.
