Description

Release, lease missing, being a conveyance from William Goodman of Brinklow bricklayer, and Mary his wife, and Richard Rathbone, alias Rawbone, of the same, carpenter, with the consent of John Barber of Baginton cordwainer, John Stanton of Coventry gent., and Ann Beardsley of Kenelworth spinster, to John Watts of Binley gent. Whereas the said William Goodman is seized of a messuage with garden and orchard in the tenure of William Goodman and William Goodman the younger, which property is mortgaged to the said John Barber for £60, and whereas he and the said Richard Rathbone are seized of a messuage or cottage with a bay of barning and backside in the tenure of William Haywood, Richard Johnson and William Goodman the younger, which property is mortgaged to the said John Stanton for £100, and whereas the said William Goodman and Richard Rathbone are seized of messuages in the tenure of John Blakemore and William Hiorns, which property is mortgaged to the said Ann Beardsley for £50, it is now witnessed that, for 10 shillings paid by the said John Watts to the said William Goodman, the following property is conveyed to the said John Watts; a messuage and garden in Brinklow late in the occupation of Thomas Hunter, since of William Owen and now of John Blakemore; a messuage and garden in Brinklow late in the occupation of William Garnham, after of William Cleave, then of John Owen, since of John Collage and now of John Blakemore and William Hiorns; a messuage or cottage, with a bay of barning and backside, in Brinklow, late in the tenure of Samuel Fleckne, and now of William Haywood, Richard Johnson and William Goodman the younger; and a messuage with garden, orchard and backside in Brinklow late in the tenure of Samuel Hayes and now of William Goodman; to hold to the said John Watts in trust that he will sell the same, pay off the said mortgages, and pay the residue of the purchase money to the said William Goodman.
