Description

Covenant between Humphrey Davies of Leamington, gentleman, and Thomas Lapworth of Ethrope, yeoman, for leading the uses of a fine, Easter Term 1595, between Humphrey Davies, plaintiff, and Thomas Bewfoe and Ursula his wife, deforciants, namely that the property recited i below should be held to the use of Humphrey Davies and that the property recited ii below should be held to the use of Thomas Lapworth. With the recitals: i) 10 August 1592 Conveyance from Thomas Bewfoe of Enscott and Ursula his wife to Humphrey Davies of a capital messuage, 4 crofts, a dovehouse and 3 yardlands of arable land in Ethrope in the tenure of Gregory Wotton, a cottage in Ethrope in the tenure of Henry Thurston, a cottage in Ethrope in the tenure of Thomas Badcock and common rights of pasture with the inhabitants of Wappenbury, Ethrope, Stretton, Prinsthrope, Riton and Bubnell. ii) 10 August 1592 Conveyance from Thomas Bewfoe and Ursula his wife to Thomas Lapworth of a cottage, 3 closes and one half yardland of arable land in Ethrope, a piece of meadow called Linces Hooke in the field of Wappenburie in the tenure of Thomas Lapworth, a cottage in Ethrope in the tenure of Elizabeth Spencer with common rights of pasture with the inhabitants of Wappenbury, Ethrop, Stretton, Prinstrop, Riton and Bubnell.
