Declaration of the uses of DR3/283 DR3/284. whereby Richard Higham, Thomas Frowyk', Robert Throgmerton', Edward Belknap', Richard Halle, John Denton', John Harwell', Andrew Wyndesore, John Archer, Thomas Essex, John Berdefeld', Robert Brudenell', Hugh Shyrley, Edward Rawley the younger, Edward Grevyle, Thomas Denton', John Archer the younger. John Clopton and Richard Throgmerton' acknowledged that they stood seised of the manor of Baddesley Clynton' with lands and appurtenances to the use of Nicholas Brome esq. and Elizabeth his wife and their lawful heirs, or in default of such issue to the assigns of the said Nicholas. If the said Elizabeth died before the said Nicholas and the said Nicholas married again, the said feoffees were to stand seised of the manor of Woodlowe and Wodecote with appurtenances to the use of the said Nicholas as recited, with the proviso that if the said manor of Woodlowe and Wodecote proved to be of less annual value than the manor of Baddesley Clynton the said feoffees were to stand seised of as much of the residue of the other lands and tenements comprised in the said feoffment to make up this deficit. The said feoffees also to stand seised of residue of the manors, lands and tenements comprised in the said feoffment for the use of the said Nicholas and his male heirs, or in default to the heirs of the said Elizabeth, or in default to the assigns of the said Nicholas, with the proviso that if the said Nicholas died without male issue the daughter or daughters of the said Nicholas and Elizabeth or their heirs were to have lands and tenements to the annual value of £20 more than the said Isabel to make their portion equal to hers, but if the said Isabel died without issue by the said Thomas the whole settlement to be void.
