Description

Lease by Charles [Sackville] Earl of Dorset and Middlesex, to Edward Hathaway, of Stratford, turner, of a plot of ground in Wood Street, between a messuage in the tenure of Thomas Kirke on the east and a messuage in the tenure of Thomas Cleever on the west and having Wood Street on the south and land in the tenure of Thomas Wootton on the north, for 99 years, terminable with the lives of the said Edward Hathaway, Jane, his wife, and Anne Lane, daughter of Thomas Lane, of Warwick, `periwigmaker', for a yearly rent of 10 shillings and a fine of £1, the lessee to erect on the same ground within two years a house of `one baye and two storyes' and roof the same in a `husband like manner'.
