Manor of Great Kington: admittance of Philemon Williams of Great Kington, mercer, by the Earl of Warwick, lord of the manor, to the property described in DR311/1 and DR311/2, with the following recitals: i) DR311/2 ii) At the same court, Jane Morris surrendered to the lord of the manor the said property to hold according to her will and testament. iii) Bond, dated 4 October 1762, from the said Jane Morris to Charles Williams in the penal sum of £440 to surrender the said property to the use of the said Charles Williams and Frances his wife as in DR311/1 on repayment of £220 by the said Charles to the said Jane. iv) Will, dated 10 September 1773, of the said Jane Morris appointing her nephew John Morris, now of Claremont [Clasemont], Glam., her sole executor and residuary legatee, Robert Morris of Lincoln's Inn esq., the eldest son and heir of Robert Morris late of Swansey [Swansea], Glam., esq., brother and heir of the said Jane, being the eldest nephew and heir-at-law of the said Jane. v) Death of the said Charles Williams intestate, leaving Frances his widow, John Williams his eldest son and Philemon Williams his second son. vi) Letter of attorney, dated 14 May 1785, from the said Robert and John Morris to George Cattell of Warwick esq. vii) Admittance of the said Robert Morris and John Morris to the said property, now in the occupation of the said Philemon Williams, and, on repayment of the said sum of £220 by the said Philemon Williams, at the request of the said Frances Williams and John Williams, to the said George Cattell, surrender by the said Robert Morris and John Morris of the said property to the use of the said Frances Williams for her life, then to the use of the said John Williams and his lawful heirs and in default to the use of the right heirs of the said Charles Williams for 300 years; admittance of the said Frances Williams and John Williams to the same. viii) Surrender by the said Frances Williams and John Williams to the lord of the manor of the said property to the use of the said John Williams and his heirs for 300 years; admittance of the said John to the same. ix) Surrender by the said John Williams to the lord of the manor of the said property to the use of the said Philemon Williams and his heirs for 300 years.
