The award made by Thomas Green, Rowley Ward esqs., William Holbech and John Norton gents. in the dispute between Antony Ludford gent. son and heir of Clement Ludford gent. deceased, and Henry Ferrers esq. and John Burgoyne gent. and Barbara his wife according to the commission from the Court of Chancery based upon the perusal of the evidence and depositions of witnesses. The said Antony Ludford and Elizabeth his wife at the cost of the said Henry Ferrers before the following Lady Day were to convey to the said Henry the manor of Kyngswood for the sum of 40 marks, and were also to release to the said Henry all profits taken by him from the said manor. The said Antony and Elizabeth at the cost of the said John Burgoyne before the following Lady Day were to convey to the said John a messuage and land called Woodhowse [?Woodhouse in Hampton-in-Arden] for the sum of 100 marks, the said John to procure a bond from his brother Roger Burgoyne esq. as surety for the same at the house of the said Rowley Ward in Warwick. The said Antony Ludford was to hold copyhold land in Rowington then held by him, and the said John and Barbara were to give up copies of court roll and evidences relating to the same, excepting a house and meadow called Purdens house, late in the tenure of Richard Purden which the said John and Barbara were to hold during the life of the said Barbara paying the chief rent during this term, and after the death of the said Barbara to pass to the said Antony and his heirs. The said John and Barbara Burgoyne at the cost of Antony Ludford were to convey to the said Antony all manner of dower and arrears of dower on freehold lands in Balsall which were formerly the inheritance of the said Clement Ludford. The tithes of Hampton-in-Arden, Knowle and Balsall in which the said John and Barbara Burgoyne and the said Antony Ludford had an interest were to be divided between them so that Antony Ludford held the tithes of Balsall, and Joan and Barbara, during the life of Rose Humynge widow, mother of the said Barbara, were to hold the tithes of Hampton-in-Arden and Knowle, the rents on the said tithes to be paid jointly by the said Antony, John and Barbara, and after the death of the said Rose, all the said tithes and rents were to be shared jointly and leases made to this effect. The said John and Barbara Burgoyne at the cost of Antony Ludford were to convey to the said Antony before the following Lady Day land in Barr [Great Barr] and Newbarrowe [Newborough], co. Stafford, then in dispute between them, and all evidences relating to the same, excepting one lease of part of the said lands to Hugh Arnold for 21 years at an annual rent of 25s., another lease to Henry Arnold for 21 years at an annual rent of 25s.,and one lease of a cottage to Rose Waker for 21 years at an annual rent of 5s.
