Archer of Tanworth

Description

Volume entitled: `Survey and valuation of the estate belonging to the co-heiresses of the late Andrew Lord Archer situate in the parishes of Tanworth, Hampton, Wootton, Packwood, Solihull, Pinley, Aston, Beaudesert and Claverdon in Warwickshire, Alvechurch in the county of Worcester, in the town of Warwick and Clifford in the county of Gloucester' and subscribed (p.378): `This survey and valuation was made in Aug. Sept. 1790, and Dec. 1790 and Jan. 1791 by Kent, Claridge Pearce, Craigs Court, Westminster.' Paginated 1-379 with a table of contents on p. 379, but pp. 2-8, 13-66, 73-105, 168-179 (much of Tanworth and Umberslade) are missing and appear never to have been bound in. [these have been located and copied, and are to be found at PR379] Divided into four main divisions: Tanworth, pp. 2-170, Claverdon, pp.180-244, Henley-in-Arden, pp. 247-268, Solihull, pp.271-319, `Scattered' (i.e. Birmingham, Alvechurch, Lapworth, Aston Cantlow mill, Warwick, Clifford Chambers), pp. 322-368, and now comprising 48 maps and plans of individual holdings in Tanworth, Claverdon, Henley-in-Arden, Beaudesert, Solihull, Packwood, Alvechurch and Aston Cantlow, and rentals, surveys and remarks for these and other holdings (including the manor of Birmingham).
