Lease and Release: Star Inn, New Street, Warwick

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 12th. December 1728, being a conveyance from Thomas White of Warwick, innholder and Elizabeth, his wife (widow of Robert Taylor late of the same place, butcher deceased) Robert Taylor of Birmingham, toymaker (only son and heir of the said Robert Taylor deceased), John Loe of Warwick, baker and Mary, his wife (one of the daughters of the said Robert Taylor deceased) and Elizabeth Taylor of Warwick, spinster (another daughter of Robert Taylor deceased) William Busby of Chipping Norton, gentleman and Ann, his wife to Thomas Abbott of Warwick, linen draper of the premises described in ER3/2792 and described as being in Horse Cheaping near Pibble Lane, Horse Cheaping and New Street lying on the South, the Gaol Hall and a mesuage theretofore in the occupation of Joseph Willis and then of John Loe on the North, Pibble Lane and a messuage theretofore in the occupation of John Foote and then of George Carter Junior on the East and part of the Market Place and a messuage theretofore in the occupation of John Burton but then of Thomas Taylor on the West Also a toft theretofore part of Blackboy ground adjoining the back of the messuage called the Starre Inne whereon a stable had been built and also a thoroughfare out of Sheep Street through the said Starre Inn into the Market Place in consideration of £410-10-0 paid to Thomas Abbott. Signed by the grantors. Witnesses: Charles Hinckes William Allen Richard Jones and Edward Abbott. Lease from Thomas White and the above grantors to Thomas Abbott of the same premises for a year. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before
