Copies of Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 9th. June 1731 whereby Abel Makepeace, late of London and then of Old Stratford, esquire and Martha, his wife, which said Martha was the daughter and heir of William Combe late of Old Stratford, deceased, and widow of Edward Clopton of Clopton deceased, conveyed hereditaments in Hatton, Haseley, Bewsall [Beausale], Shrewley, Drayton, Old Stratford, Rhynhill [Ryon Hill], Shotswell, Clifford Chambers (Heath Farm and Monks Close) Hidcott Glos., Bridgetown or Rhyn Clifford, Stratford-upon-Avon, to Salisbury Lloyd of Ledbrook, County Flint esquire, Richard Lely of Lincoln's Inn, esquire and Hugh Meredith of the same place, gentleman, to be held upon certain trusts therein specified, being a settlement upon the Marriage of Abel Makepeace and Martha his wife. Witnesses: Alex Smith, Henry Trapps and Edward Grove. Lease dated the 8th June 1731 by Abel Makepeace and Martha his wife to Salisbury Lloyd, Richard Lloyd and Hugh Meredith of the same property for one year. Witnessed as before. See also ER3/2897-2898.
