Lease and Release: Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon

Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 4th. May 1811 between Samuel Humphriss of Warwick, coal dealer and Thomas Haydon of the same place, gentleman (a Trustee for the said Samuel Humphriss) of the first part, James Brown of Combrook, gardener of the second part, John Margetts of Warwick, auctioneer and Daniel Winter Busbury of Warwick, gentleman (a Trustee for the said John Margetts) of the third part, and George Bryan of Bishops Tachbrook, gentleman of the fourth part. Reciting ER3/2923 it was witnessed that Samuel Humphriss and Thomas Haydon conveyed to John Margetts and Daniel Winter Busbury, hereditaments in Sheep Street, Stratford-upon-Avon in consideration of £100 paid by John Margetts to James Brown (Mortgagee of the said property, see ER3/2923) and it was further witnessed that James Brown in consideration of the said £120 paid to him by John Margetts at the direction of the said Samuel Humphriss assigned to George Bryan the said Mortgage term of 1000 years (described in ER3/2923) in trust to attend the Inheritance of John Margetts. Signed by all the parties. Seals of red wax. Witnesses: Alexander Parkes and Abel Palmer. Lease dated the 3rd. May 1811 by Samuel Humphriss and Thomas Heydon to John Margetts and Daniel Winter Busbury of the same premises for one year. Signed by Samuel Humphriss and Thomas Haydon. Sealed and witnessed as before.
