Description

Probate of the Will, dated 21st May 1749, of William Wheatcroft of Alveston, yeoman dated the 21st. May 1749 whereby he devised to his wife Mary the house in which he dwelt for her life and thereafter to his son John if he should attain 21 years or die under that age leaving issue and in default of such issue to Edward Townsend and John Stanley upon trust to sell and divide between testator's brothers, John, Edward, Thomas and Henry Wheatcroft and the children of Elizabeth Payne Testator's sister-in-law and Anne Veal Testator's sister-in-law equally, and Testator bequeathed his personal estate to Edward Townsend and John Stanley upon certain trusts therein specified. Witnesses: Edward Kitching, Thomas Aspber and John Court. Probate granted by George Hammond, clerk, M A, Rector of Hampton Lucy and by reason thereof Ordinary judge of the undermentioned Peculier Jurisdiction belonging to the said Church, to John Stanley on the 25th June 1754.
