Description

Indentures of Lease and Release, the release dated the 15th January 1761 between Thomas Payne of Little Wolford, labourer and Elizabeth, his wife (which Elizabeth was the only surviving sister and heir of Ann Veale of Little Wolford, spinster deceased, who was a devisee and Residuary Legatee of John Wheatcroft theretofore of Alveston, yeoman deceased, who was only son and heir of William Wheatcroft of Alveston deceased: see ER3/2978) George Payne of Newbold-on-Stour, miller and Hannah, his wife, William Payne of Whichford servant, Ann Payne of Little Wolford, spinster, Mary Wilkes of Shipston-on-Stour, widow, Mary Wheatcroft of Wellesbourne Hastings, spinster, Mary Wheatcroft of Treddington, spinster, Elizabeth Wheatcroft of Oxhill, spinster (which George, William and Ann Payne, and Mary Wilkes, Mary Wheatcroft of Wellesbourne, Mary Wheatcroft of Treddington and Elizabeth Wheatcroft were devisees of John Wheatcroft deceased) of one part and Joseph Frampton of Tiddington, yeoman. Whereby the persons of the first part conveyed a cottage with appurtenances in Alveston to Joseph Frampton and his heirs for ever. Signed by all the parties. Seals of red wax. Witnesses: Thomas Townsend, Samson Good and John Edkins. Lease dated the 9th January 1761 by Thomas Payne and the other persons of the first part of the Release above to Joseph Frampton of the same property for one year. Signed, sealed and witnessed as before. Birth Certificate of Ann, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Pain enclosed
