Attested Copies of Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 22nd December 1820 whereby Henry Roberts theretofore of Stratford-upon-Avon but then of Fairfield (near Bromsgrove) Worcestershire, esquire by the direction of William Halford of Alveston, gentleman conveyed to William Court of Fulbrook, gentleman the water corn mills and dressing mills in Alveston also two pieces of land called the Dennys containing together 6 acres 1 rood and 11 perches also Mill Lane and Mill Meadow situate on the West side of a Paddock belonging to the Mansion House containing 18 acres, also the osier and willow plantations in the River Avon below the said Mills; also free fishery in the River Avon from Cliff bank to Alveston ford, in trust for William Halford in consideration of the discharge of a Mortgage upon the property of £800 owing to William Manning of Halford, practitioner of physic and of £1008-6-8 owing to the Executors of William Freeman theretofore of Hidcote, Glos. deceased, and of £3191-13-4 paid by William Halford to Henry Roberts making £5000 in all. Declaration by Henry Robbins theretofore of Warwick but then of the Asps Tachbrook, gentleman that he should thereafter stand possessed of a term of 1000 years in the premises in Trust for William Halford. Witnesses: Thomas Tidmas, G. Roberts and Joseph Page. Attested the 24th September 1827 by John Cook and Richard Wilkins, clerk to Messrs. Tidmas and Page. Lease by Henry Roberts to William Court of the same premises for one year. Witnessed and attested as before. See also ER3/3020.
