Description

Deed between John Appletree, of Edgeock, Worcs., esquire, son and heir of Thomas Appletree of Doddington, Oxford, esquire, deceased, and Anne ,wife of John, William Vernon the elder, late of Edgeock, now of Feckenham, Worcs., gent., and William Vernon the younger, esquire, eldest son and heir of the said William, of the first part, Thomas Rowney of the City of Oxford, esquire of the second part, and Edward Noel of the Inner Temple and Martin May of Kidlington, Oxford, gentleman of the third part. Reciting agreement between Appletree and Thomas Rowney for sale and purchase of premises and Decree in Chancery dated 24 November 1699 concerning the younger children of John Appletree (William, Savage, Hester, Anne, Lettice and Margaret) and William Vernon, their guardian: In consideration of £2600 paid by Thomas Rowney, premises now conveyed to him are: Closes in Compton Scorpion in the parish of Ilmington known by the names of Rough Ground and Ram Meadow alias Thistly Close in the occupation of Thomas Procter; closes known as the Town Meadow, the Feeding Ground and the New Diggins in the occupation of John Appletree, with all rights, easements and hereditaments appertaining, in Compton Scorpion.
