Description

Conveyance (being a Settlement made upon the Marriage of William Court alias Smyth of Whitley in the Parish of Wootonwawen [Wootton Wawen], yeoman and Mary Field, daughter of John Field of Tanworth gentleman) by the said William Court alias Smyth to the said John Field and Edward Field of the Hole in the Parish of Kingsnorton, Worcs., gentleman, of a cottage and garden in Henley-in-Arden also the lands mentioned in ER3/3182 ER3/3183 Also a Close of 3 acres lying in Whitley but within the Parish of Preston Bagott with appurtenances to the use of the said William and Mary for their lives and the life of the survivor of them with remainder over to the first and other sons of the said William and Mary begotten successively in tail male, with remainder to the first and other daughters of the said William and Mary successively in tail, with remainder in default of issue to the right heirs of the said William in consideration of the said messuage and also of £140 paid by John Field to William Court alias Smyth. Signed by the mark of William Court. Seal of red wax broken. Witnesses: John Holmes, John Clarke and Richard Holmes. Endorsed with Memorandum of Livery of Seisin dated the 5th November 1656.
