Marriage Articles prenuptial: Kenilworth and London

Description

Indenture of Marriage Articles made previous to the marriage of Robert Sumner and Hannah Bird, between Robert Sumner of Kenilworth, clerk, of the first part, Judith Bird of Coventry, widow of John Bird late alderman of London, deceased, and Hannah Bird, spinster (eldest daughter of Judith Bird and John Bird, deceased) of the second part, and William Wilberforce Bird of London, esq., Humphrey Sumner of King's College, Cambridge, clerk, and Wentworth Bradbury the elder of London, gent., of the third part (reciting the will of John Bird, deceased, dated 18 April 1772, who left five children him surviving, namely William Wilberforce Bird, Hannah Lucy, Rebecca and Ann Maria Bird - whereby Hannah Bird was entitled to certain sums therein mentioned; and reciting that Robert Sumner was also entitled to certain sums under the Will of his father John Sumner, deceased) whereby it was witnessed that the persons of the third part should stand possessed of the said sums therein mentioned upon the trusts of the marriage settlement.
