Lease and Release: Wolverton, Snitterfield and Stourton

Settlement of Indentures of Lease and Release, the Release dated the 12th April 1692 by Sturch Walford of Wolverton, gentleman and Anne his wife, John Walford of Wolverton, gentleman (son and heir apparent of the said Sturch Walford) to Thomas Seymoure of Incholme in the Parish of Hamborne, Berks., esquire and John Mariott of Alscott Park, Glos., esquire and their heirs, of a messuage with appurtenances and closes called Ashclose, the Furlonge, the upper Innage, the Nether Innage, the Nether Close, the two Little Meadows, the Snitterfield Piece, the Sheep Pasture, the Redhill, the Close lying next Mr. Stanton's grounds on the North part, 30 acres of meadow in the Common of Wolverton, Langley and Blacon, all which messuage and premises were in the occupation of Humphrey Fields also a messuage with appurtenances and several closes called The Old (then divided in several parts), The Furr or Further Close, the Middle Field, Baggage and Rednauld Such all which last mentioned were in the occupation of Sturch Walford Also a messuage and seven yard lands and a half and half a quarter yard land of arable meadow and pasture in Stowerton [Stourton] in the Parish of Whichford Also the capital messuage of him Sturch Walford being in The Old in the Parish of Snitterfield with its appurtenances and several closes etc. called Lupton's Leasowe, Poole Leasowe, Plaine Leasowe, Brickkilne Close and meadow, Gilberts Leasowe, the Broome Close and a meadow and Lea ground adjoining the last mentioned messuage all of which said last mentioned messuage and closes were in the occupation of Sturch Walford also a toft or meereplace where a cottage had formerly stood in The Old aforesaid formerly in the occupation of Anne Myles widow with appurtenances to the uses and upon the Trusts of the settlementt thereby made previous to the marriage of John Walford and Frances Seymoure (a daughter of Thomas Seymoure) and in consideration of £1000 paid by Thomas Seymoure to Sturch Walford and John Walford as a marriage portion covenant to pay a Fine to John Kent of Barford Clerk. Witnesses: Thomas Seymoure Junior, Charles Bint, Elizabeth King, Jane Seymour, Francis Capell, XXX Mariott, Hugh Walford Junior, John Shealy, John Court and John Mansell. Lease dated the 11th April by Sturch Walford and John Walford to Thomas Seymour and John Mariott of the same premises for one year. Signed by the parties. Sealed and witnessed as before.
