Enfeoffment: Broadway and Brockhampton

Description

Deed betweenWilliam Sheldon of Broadway, Worcs., son and heir apparent of William Sheldon of the same place, esquire of the first part, John Keyte of Ebrington, Glos., esquire and Anthony Langston of Littleton, Worcs., gentleman of the second part and John Stephens of Broadway, gentleman of the third part. The said William Sheldon the son and the said John Keyte and Anthony Langston, at the request of the said William Sheldon the son, for and in consideration of the sum of £786 to him the said William Sheldon the son paid by the said John Stephens, enfeoffs to the said John Stephens one tenement or cottage with its appurtenances in the possession of one Thomas Lowe, and another tenement or cottage with appurtenances in the possession of one William White, and a parcel of arable land and ground called the Dorne Knappe ground containing 31 acres, also a close or meadow ground called Brockhampton, all which premises are in the town and fields of Broadway to have and to hold the said John Stephens, his heirs and assigns for ever. Sealed and delivered by William Sheldon the son and Anthony Langston in the presence of William Livesey, William Wilkinson and James Lewde. Sealed and delivered by John Keyte in the presence of William Livesey, John Priest, John Keyte and Tho: Taylor. Memorandum that Livery and Seisin was made and executed by John Priest, gentleman, one of the Attornies of the said William Sheldon the younger in the presence of William Livesey, William Stephens and John Priest Junior.
