Writ to Restrain Damage: Broadway Court

Description

Writ to restrain John Newport esquire and Cecilia, his wife from committing waste connected with the Broadway Court Estate recites Deeds of 18th 19th September 1704 and 24th October 1713 that said Cecilia intermarried with said John Newport and, as Henry Savage apprehended, had committed great waste and destruction by cutting down great numbers of maiden oaks and young thriving timber trees which with the bark he John Newport has sold, and suffered the Mansion house belonging to the Estate to run to ruin for want of necessary repairs. Ordered that they refrain from cutting down trees etc. and that they put the Mansion house, barns and outhouses called Broadway Court in tenantable repair. Signed: Fortescue Bridges.
