Description

Surrender by Sir Henry Willoughby of Risley, baronet to Sir Thomas Aston of Aston, baronet and Dame Anne, his wife (only daughter of the said Sir Henry Willoughby by Lady Elizabeth his late wife deceased) of his interest in the Manors of Attleborough, Stockingford, Kingsbury, Burton Hastings, Horston alias Horston Fields, the Hundred of Hemlingford and the Manor House called Ipsley Hall in the County of Warwick, certain hereditaments in Harbourne and Smethwick in the County of Stafford and also in the Counties of Worcester, Salop and Berks., part of which premises one Margaret Knolles (theretofore of Nuneaton, widow of Henry Knolles, esquire, deceased and daughter and sole heir of Sir Ambrose Cave, knight deceased) had by descent from her said father Sir Ambrose Cave and the rest by purchase, and of one half moiety of which premises so descended to the said Margaret, the said Sir Henry was tenant by the courtesy for the term of his life and of the residue thereof he was solely seised for the term of his life, to the intent that Sir Thomas Aston and Dame Ann his wife might suffer a Recovery of the premises, upon condition that the said surrender should be null and void if the said Sir Thomas Aston and Dame Anne did not pay to the said Sir Henry £10,000 on the 4th July 1639.
