Snitterfield deeds: Phillips of Welcombe

Description

A coppie of a patent taken out of the Rolles dated 37 Henry VIII probably made about the middle of the 17th Century witnessing that in consideration of the Manors of Ellesbecke, Yorks., Cheddenwicke and Puny alias Punycourte, Worcs., Thornton in le Moore, North Pilvington and Thoreton in Street, Yorks., the Rectory etc. of Claynes, Worcester and the Grange called Nounhouse in Northallerton, Yorks. granted by Richard Morison to the King, together with the sum of £176-15-5 paid in the Treasury, the King granted to Richard Morison the Manor of Whitterbury, Wilts. with appurtenances and Southampton, formerly in the possession of the Monastery of Reading, Berks. now dissolved, and also all those woods etc. called Castell Coppice, Foxhollies Coppice, Ashridge Coppice, Oxynwells Coppice, houseted Coppice and Talles Coppice as also all rights of common etc. in Whittesburge Common, and all that wood called Westwood in Whittesburge, also the Manor of Eskynocke and Clowerworth, Somerset formerly belonging to the Monastery of Mountague, Somerset then lately dissolved together with woods called Parke Woods and The Waste, Whychappell Woods and Augustine's Grove lying in Estynocke and Clowesworth. Also all that Manor of Snitterfield and hereditaments therein formerly belonging to the Earl of Warwick with all appurtenances lying in the said Manor in as ample a manner as they had been enjoyed by the Earl of Warwick.
