Copy Counterpart Indenture between Stephen Hales of Snitterfield, esquire, John hales of Coventry, esquire, Thomas Hales son of the said John Hales of the one part, and Dame Katherine Verney, widow, late wife of Sir Greville Verney, knight deceased, of the other part whereby in consideration of £1846-18-4 to Stephen Hales and of 5/- to John and Thomas Hales paid by Dame Katherine, they the said persons of the first part granted to Dame Katherine Verney, all those closes and inclosed grounds containing 21 acres then in the tenure of William Horne. Also other lands containing 21 acres, 1 rood and 10 perches, also lands containing 30a-2r-0p, also lands containing 34a-1r-20p, all of which premises were in the occupation of Simon Cale. Also closes and pasture ground containing 103 a-1r-30p, also lands called West Long Meadow (6a-1r-30p), also lands called East Long Meadow (7a-1r-0p), also land called Meadow Leaze lying at the East end of the said East Long Meadow containing 3a-1r-20p, also land called the Meadow adjoining Goodridge Home Close containing 6a-2r-0p, all of which last mentioned premises were then in the occupation of Thomas Greene, also lands called Comins in the occupation of William Ball. Covenant by the persons of the first part that they have good right to convey free from encumbrances (except those specified in a schedule thereto). Witnessed by Edw. Peito, James Prescott, Will Bradshaw and I. Kittemaster. Attested 18th December 1668 by George Nayle and Edward Berry.
